About Us

Our Mission

Praxis One was founded at the intersection of crisis, conviction, and consequence. Our work is shaped by the life-and-death realities of ethical decision-making—first experienced by our founder, Heather-Elizabeth Brown, during a 31-day coma in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her survival revealed the unseen systems that shape human care and the urgent need for governance that centers ethics.

At Praxis One, we help institutions lead with discernment before systems are built, and before lives are on the line. We embed ethical foresight into decision-making frameworks, helping organizations develop the capacity to govern emerging technologies with clarity, responsibility, and integrity.

We specialize in:

Our work sits at the nexus of strategy, ethics, and consequence—where data informs the decision, and values shape the outcome.

About Praxis One

Praxis One was founded by Heather-Elizabeth Brown, whose survival during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped her understanding of systems, ethics, and human worth. She spent 31 days in a medically induced coma, ventilated, suspended between worlds—her fate not determined by machines, but by the judgment, intuition, and courage of human providers making real-time decisions under pressure.

That kind of survival leaves an imprint.
It reveals how deeply care is shaped by institutional priorities, data systems, and the values embedded in every decision point.
It underscores how irreplaceable human discernment is—how no algorithm can replicate the moral weight of compassion or the ethical calculus required when a life hangs in the balance.

At its core, Praxis One exists to support mission-driven institutions through ethical consulting, policy design, strategic leadership advising, and AI accountability. We build and audit frameworks of governance that ensure innovation aligns with integrity—preserving that vital distinction and guarding the line between humanity and harm as artificial intelligence begins to shape decisions once held only in human hands.

Praxis One empowers organizations and institutions to lead with discernment, foresight, and integrity —before systems are built, and before lives are on the line.

We provide strategic counsel and ethics-first implementation for:
Our work sits at the nexus of ethics, institutional strategy, and consequence—where data informs the decision, and ethics shapes the outcome.
